Intergraph Canada ULC (Part of Octave) is looking for a motivated and high-performing finance professional to fill an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant.  This role can be based in our Calgary head office (hybrid) or performed remotely within Canada.

 Your Mission 

Reporting to the Controller, you will take ownership of key accounting and finance functions including complex financial analysis, tax compliance, and financial close and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting issues, and brings strong analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset. 


 Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare meaningful financial insights through monthly reporting, including: 
  • Services backlog, margin analysis and dashboards 
  • Business performance analysis on balance sheet and revenue 
  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end close activities within tight deadlines, including: 
  • Preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, such as revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting entries 
  • Reconciling key GL accounts and proactively resolving variances 
  • Manage tax compliance across jurisdictions, including preparing and filing of annual corporate income tax returns and monthly sales tax filings 
  • Oversee accounts receivable and lead collection efforts to ensure timely customer payments and healthy cash flow 
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts and provide actionable insights into liquidity and working capital 
  • Assist internal and external audits as needed 
  • Support the Controller and Finance team with ad hoc M&A activities, financial reporting, and internal control initiatives

Education / Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a mid-sized organization ($25M-$100M revenue), including: 
  • 2+ years in month-end close 
  • 2+ years in financial reporting 
  • 2+ years in tax and audit 
  • Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and report building  
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of corporate income tax and Canadian sales taxes regulations 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines 
  • Critical thinking skills and a proactive mindset 

 

Preferred 

  • CPA designation or near completion
