IT Support Principal Engineer

You will...

 

  • Take ownership of logged customer issues and ensure that a solution is delivered.
  • Troubleshoot system, desktop/laptop and mobile problems, researching, diagnosing and solving hardware and software incidents.
  • Respond to logged support calls within service level targets and timely escalating of unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.
  • Build new or replacement laptops/desktops for employees.
  • Provide end-user support for a wide range of IT related problems/concerns.
  • Windows Server and Network Administration including system backup.
  • Document technical knowledge in procedures, forms, etc.
  • Be involved in special projects as required.

 

You will have...

  • Experience working in a similar position, preferably in a service desk environment.
  • Experience with Windows Administration and Networking.
  • ITIL tool experience for processing incidents and service requests.
  • Knowledge of Windows based computing – desktop and server operating systems, basic IP networking, Microsoft productivity applications (Office 365 etc.) and typical IT peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, copiers etc.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, AAD and maintenance of user and computer objects and access rights.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and data security principles.
  • Understanding of Cloud Technology (Azure) is an advantage.
  • Experience in PowerShell and/or SharePoint is an advantage.

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or Computer Science is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the proven ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, Self-improvement and initiative to improve systems and processes.
  • Strong team player who exercises initiative and independent judgement.
  • Excellent German and English communication skills (oral and written), other European languages are a preference.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with a professional telephone / virtual meeting behavior.
  • Willing and able to travel in Europe.
