The job

We’re looking for a Java Tech Lead to join the CIT team. The CIT team manages all mission-critical internal software and tools, that directly drive core business operations, such as our in-house CRM/ERP, sales channels, support systems, Help Center and more.

You’ll work in a multi-disciplinary international team with a clear focus that can mostly work independently.

As a Tech Lead we expect you to show technical leadership with a focus on backend development by helping the team write high-quality software and build a path to gradually modernize our legacy software system.

You’ll work closely together with the team consisting of a Team Lead, Developers (backend and frontend), QA and Product Owner.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
  • Maintaining a high standard of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Contributes to the internal engineering processes (e.g. how to sustainably use AI during the development process)
  • Prioritise and build out a technical roadmap to help improve, modernize and modularize our legacy software system step by step
  • Strong and effective communication with team members including product owner and other product and technical stakeholders

What are we looking for

  • A minimum of six years of Java back-end experience in a Senior Software development role of which at least two years in a Tech Lead or Architect position.
  • Hands-on development experience with Spring / Spring Boot, JPA / Hibernate, REST API’s
  • Experience with modernizing and modularizing legacy codebases
  • Gets excited about technical coaching and improving together as a team
  • Can explain the importance of technical changes to product and business
  • Good at organizing your work, setting priorities and staying focused
  • Interested in learning the business domain and understanding the need to balance between functional and technical improvements. Be pragmatic.
  • Fluent in English
  • Nice to have: knowledge and experience with Domain Driven Design
