Responsibilities

Octave is seeking a Technical Writing Intern. In this role, you will work closely with the User Assistance team to write, update, and deliver software documentation under the guidance of experienced writers and editors. This internship provides the opportunity to develop essential skills in technical writing and gain hands-on experience in software development documentation.

• Collaborate with expert writers to learn the fundamentals of technical writing, editing, and publishing. 
• Create and update user assistance content, including concepts, procedures, and work processes, for diverse audiences. 
• Communicate effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to develop documentation that meets customer needs. 
• Use technical authoring tools to write, edit, and maintain technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle. 
• Proofread and review technical deliverables prior to publication, offering suggestions for improvement. 
  Gain knowledge of Octave’s products and services by working with product owners, user assistance teams, and other stakeholders.

Education / Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Information Design, or a related field. 
  
• Strong written communication skills with attention to detail. 
  
• Coursework in technical writing or technical communication is preferred. 
  
• Familiarity with programming concepts, databases, or other technical subjects is a plus. 
  
• Experience with authoring tools or content management systems is beneficial.
