Application Implementation Consultant

Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and use Quality, System Build, Testing and Transition plans to meet contractual commitments including time frame, quality, and cost dimensions. Application Implementation consultants are required to:

 

  • Maintain a lead role as Product Specialist in support of customers and the sales function
  • Define and deliver configuration requirements to customers
  • Gather and translate business and technical requirements
  • Configure and implement the applications at a high quality
  • Actively participate in software configuration planning and management
  • Proactively communicate all design, build, testing and quality risks, assumptions, and dependencies for timely escalation
  • Escalation-point for support team (Level 3 Application Support Specialist) as needed to deliver the contracted response times at various severity levels during project delivery
  • Participate in pre-sales activities as required
  • Assist in the preparation of quotations and tender process responses such as EOI’s, RFT’s, RFQ’s as required
  • Work across understanding of release and configuration management
  • Writing technical documentation And other reasonable tasks as directed from time to time.

• Ability to deliver problem resolutions under pressure at customer-site
• Ability to negotiate transition through customer testing to production, training and then maintenance and SLA’s 
• Consulting skills necessary
• Leverage business and technical acumen to nurture client relationships 
• Ability to communicate issues and resolutions clearly
• Time management, expectation setting and prioritisation skills to manage multiple requests and stakeholders
• Technical competence in current market computing technologies
• Conduct training sessions and running customer workshops (nice to have)

POSITION SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES


• This role requires the successful candidate to pass National Police Record checks.
• Domestic and International travel may be involved 
• Be available for the 24 X 7 on-call support roster on a mutually agreed case by case basis
• Working knowledge across C#, ASP, .Net and WPF User Interface modification (not essential)
• Understanding of testing, ability to conduct smoke testing (not essential)
• Knowledge of operational workflows within I/CAD and InService (nice to have)

 

QUALIFICATIONS


• Tertiary level qualifications in Software Engineering or equivalent
• Certification in SQL Server, Oracle or similar databases will be highly regarded
• Successful track record in implementation of software delivery life cycle projects 
• Demonstrated understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Strong relational database knowledge and proficiency in writing SQL including SQL Server Mirroring and Always-On and Oracle RDBMS including Data Guard
• Competent in SQL, XML, Scripting, Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Citrix, IIS, Cloud, Windows Operating Systems (workstation and server) and IP Networks 
• Ability to use and interact with VSTS, TFS, SVN, GIT and Visual Studio and related tools
