Responsibilities
As Delivery Operations Manager
- Own operational outcomes for delivered systems, including transition to support and ongoing service performance
- Ensure solutions are implemented and operated in line with agreed delivery plans, operational standards, and architectural intent
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational, technical, and customer issues
- Maintain service stability while supporting ongoing delivery, change, and improvement activities
- Problem Management (Conducting PIR’s to drive and own RCA)
- Infrastructure capacity planning/ health check and monitoring
- Documentation, run book creations, knowledge database
- Provide leadership, line management and guidance to your operation team members
- Handle all people-related issues such as performance management, performance reviews and escalate to HR and/or the Senior Manager, Operations & Service Delivery as necessary
- Create a working environment and setting in which your team members feel enabled; enhance organisational and team success by understanding how people and relationships function cohesively in a work context
- Identify and understand employee capabilities alongside understanding current or anticipated gaps in knowledge or skill within your team
- Offer support and guidance to your team members as required and assist your team at a technical level; commit to self and team development
- Effectively lead and endorse a continuous improvement focus and establish initiatives to improve the value of your function within the region
- Make sure your team is delivering services according to the agreed governance framework and processes
- Ensure fluency of communication across the service delivery teams to allow our teams with the necessary information to perform at their best
- Cultivating a positive work environment and high-performance culture
- Identifying current and emerging opportunities to develop capabilities and services
- Be the escalation point to the team
- Liaise with your manager, Technical Implementation Leads of DevOps and PMO to ensure the successful delivery of Octave’s solutions.
- Ensure delivered systems are operationally stable, secure, and supportable
- Maintain high standards of service delivery, support performance, and operational readiness
- Own quality and security control effectiveness, including ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 obligations
- Provide strong leadership across support, internal IT, and operational control functions
- Identify and mitigate delivery, operational, and security risks early
- Resource allocation and time/task management of the team
- Provide support to the Project Manager Office (PMO) to track the schedule and execution of the program of work
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of solution’s delivery
- Support PMs and Support team in managing customer escalation and other relevant issues and communications
- Ensure stakeholder buy-in and agreement for maximum efficiency in delivery
- Communicate pro-actively and transparently with the team and management regarding status on active projects
- Facilitate meetings to ensure progress on technical solutions
- Ensure the delivery and implementation of solutions according to the pre-determined plan
Education / Qualifications
- The specific certifications held may vary, but should include background experience with the below:
- Tertiary Level education in IT, Computer Science, Business Management or similar
- Master of Business Administration is nice to have
- At least one technical certification, such as MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Expert) or equivalent
- At least one SAFe certification
- At least one Security and/or Data Privacy certification
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) nice to have
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or AWS Cloud Practitioner or equivalent
- Strong Project Management background (Certification in PMP or Prince2 are nice to have)
