We are hiring a Project Manager who is dedicated to monitoring and supporting the successful execution of customer projects on time, on budget and ensuring high quality results. The fundamental PMO culture is one that focuses on innovation, professionalism, integrity, and accountability. The selected candidate will need to be based in Melbourne.
The role of the Project Manager is to ensure the successful end to end delivery of OCTAVE’s solutions to customers. You will achieve this by developing, maintaining, and leading project teams, both internally and with third party vendors (if required) across the APAC region.
Using proven project management methodologies, frameworks, and technologies; you will drive the successful execution of projects ultimately delivering value to our customers enabling them to achieve their business objectives. On time delivery, within budget guidelines and at the expected level of high quality to the satisfaction of the customer and the PMO is imperative.
This role will require the successful candidate to pass police vetting and background checks and may require travel both nationally and internationally from time to time.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Own delivery: Hit milestones. Manage risks and issues before they bite. Keep projects on track under PMO governance.
- Report with precision: Give stakeholders clear, timely updates that stand up to scrutiny. No surprises.
- Control the numbers: Track P&L, budgets, and commercials. Make decisions that protect margin and value.
- Manage scope tightly: Define it. Defend it. Handle changes decisively on both customer and internal sides.
- Run multiple projects: Deliver end to end. Transition cleanly to support—no loose ends.
- Hold partners accountable: Third parties meet your standard, or you course-correct fast.
- Plan in detail: Build schedules that actually work. Track milestones, dependencies, and change requests closely.
- Allocate resources smartly: Balance demand, risk, and long-term sustainability.
- Drive outcomes with a commercial lens: Every decision ties back to value through the SDLC.
- Align stakeholders: Influence, challenge, and get real buy-in. Not surface-level agreement.
- Lead from the front: Engage teams, sharpen input, and keep execution tight.
- Build strong relationships: Take a consultative approach, stay responsive, and earn trust.
- Stay ahead of risk: Identify, escalate, and mitigate issues early. No reactive firefighting.
- Improve how we work: Contribute to PMO standards—quality, governance, cost control, and delivery discipline.
- Support sales handover: Ensure a clean, controlled transition from deal to delivery.
Education / Qualifications
What you bring
- 10+ years delivering complex, vendor-side software projects
- A proven track record on large, high-stakes programs—with references to back it up
- Strong command of Agile and Waterfall—you know when to apply each, and why
- PMP / PRINCE2 (or equivalent). Scrum Master or similar Agile certification preferred
- Solid understanding of project governance, controls, delivery assurance, and quality management
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and exposure to SAFe
- High proficiency with MS Project or equivalent tools
