Responsibilities
Are you a results-driven enterprise sales professional with a passion for industrial technology, digital transformation, and long-term client partnerships? At Octave we are looking for a Senior Account Executive / Senior Account Manager to drive growth across Heavy Industries in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
You will own a portfolio of strategic accounts in sectors such as Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), Mining, Metals, Cement, and Chemicals & Petrochemicals, positioning Octave as a trusted partner for Digital Projects and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) across the entire asset lifecycle.
In many of these key accounts, your primary entry point will be through Digital Projects solutions – such as design tools, information management systems and project performance platforms (e.g., SDx, EcoSys) – and then you will expand our footprint into Operations & Maintenance solutions (EAM, APM, j5, etc.).
Account Strategy & Territory Growth
Design and execute strategic account plans and a clear go-to-market strategy for your territory and named accounts, with a strong focus on Digital Projects and O&M.
Expand Octave's footprint within existing accounts and open new logos in priority Heavy Industries.
Build a robust 4x pipeline to consistently achieve and exceed quarterly and annual software license and SaaS quotas.
Consultative, Value & ROI-Based Selling
Lead the end-to-end consultative sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, discovery, solution shaping, commercial negotiation and closing.
Position an integrated value story that spans Digital Projects (design tools, information management, project performance) and O&M (EAM, APM, j5 and related solutions)
Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business outcomes: improved project delivery, better cost and schedule performance, reduced downtime, extended asset life, safety and compliance, and improved EBITDA.
Build and present ROI and value justification (business cases, TCO/benefit analysis) for C-level and operational stakeholders.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
Become a trusted advisor to your customers, nurturing long-term, multi-level relationships (project controls, engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, IT and executive sponsors).
Navigate complex organizations, align with multiple stakeholders and orchestrate internal resources (consulting, pre-sales, services, support and channel partners) to maximize customer value and revenue.
Opportunity Generation & Market Intelligence
Proactively prospect, qualify and develop new opportunities aligned with our strategic industries and priority solutions in both Digital Projects and O&M.
Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations and operational challenges in Mining, Cement, Chemicals, O&G, Metals and other Heavy Industries, turning insights into targeted plays and campaigns.
Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM (Salesforce) and structured sales methodologies.
Education / Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise/industrial software or automation sales (ideally Digital Projects, EAM, APM, MES, SCADA, IIoT, ERP, project controls or similar).
- Proven track record leading and closing SaaS or digital transformation deals >US$250K, consistently achieving or exceeding quota.
- Deep exposure to Heavy Industries: Mining, Cement, O&G, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Metals/Steel, with strong understanding of project and operations environments.
Sales Skills & Methodologies
- Mastery of consultative and value-based selling, with experience in SPICED or other customer-centric methodologies, and strategic account planning.
- Ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and influence both C-suite and operational users.
- Strong discipline in pipeline development, qualification and forecasting, using CRM tools (preferably Salesforce).
Technical & Business Acumen
- Solid understanding of the asset and project lifecycle: from concept, design and engineering, through construction and commissioning, to operations, maintenance and reliability.
- Familiarity with Digital Projects concepts:
- Design tools (e.g., engineering & design suites, 3D modeling, P&ID tools).
- Information Management Systems (single source of truth for engineering data and documentation, such as HxGN SDx).
- Project Performance / Project Controls platforms (e.g., EcoSys for cost, schedule and risk control).
- Comfortable discussing architectures, integrations and OT/IT environments with technical teams, while keeping the conversation anchored in business value and outcomes.
Nice to Have (Big Plus)
- Hands-on experience selling or working with Octave solutions, such as:
- HxGN SDx (Digital Projects / Information Management)
- EcoSys (Enterprise Project Performance)
- Engineering & design tools from the Octave / Intergraph heritage
- HxGN EAM, HxGN APM, j5 Operations Management Solutions, eTQ or related O&M platforms.
Education & Languages
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
- Fluent Spanish and English (spoken and written); Portuguese is a plus.
