Job Overview

We’re looking for a technically strong Presales Solution Consultant to join our Octave APAC Presales team.

As the Presales Solution Consultant, the primary role consists of providing technical and subject matter expertise for Octave Design/Engineering (2D & 3D) technologies and later expanding into project delivery solutions in pre-sales engagements. You will work closely with sales teams across the sales segments and Service Consultants needing your support in establishing the value of the Octave solution for achieving customers’ business outcomes through technical presentations and targeted demonstrations.

What matters most is your understanding of plant and engineering design, your ability to solve technical problems and communicate with customers, and your appetite to become a go-to technical expert for Design & Engineering solutions across APAC.

What you’ll do

• Develop deep expertise in our 2D and 3D Design & Engineering solutions and become a trusted technical resource across APAC.
• Understand customers’ engineering challenges and translate their requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Prepare and deliver compelling technical demonstrations based on real-world customer scenarios.
• Support Proofs of Concept, pilots, technical evaluations, tenders and RFxs.
• Partner with Sales and Services teams to progress opportunities and demonstrate the technical value of our solutions.
• Build reusable demos, technical content and best practices for the region.
• Share your expertise by training and enabling Sales, Services, partners and other Solution Consultants.
• Bring customer insights back to Product and Services teams to help shape future solutions.
• Represent the business at customer workshops, industry events and technical presentations.

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Around 5+ years of experience in engineering/design within the process, plant or related industries.
• Strong hands-on knowledge in one or more areas such as plant design, piping, process, instrumentation or electrical engineering.
• Experience with 2D/3D engineering design software or engineering information systems.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to understand customer requirements and turn them into effective technical solutions or demonstrations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage directly with customers.
• Curiosity and the drive to learn, develop deep technical expertise and share knowledge with others.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Great if you also have

• Presales, applications engineering, software implementation or technical consulting experience.
• Experience delivering software demonstrations, technical workshops or POCs.
• Knowledge of SQL, Oracle/MS SQL Server, REST APIs, cloud or enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with Design & Engineering solutions such as Smart 3D, Smart P&ID, Smart Electrical or Smart Instrumentation.
