Responsibilities
Octave’s Physical Security division is seeking a Professional Services Engineer with strong expertise in Business Intelligence, reporting, and dashboard development to support customer implementations across CCTV, Video Management Systems (VMS), and physical security platforms.
This role is customer-facing and involves designing, configuring, and delivering operational and analytical reports using Qlik, NPrinting, Power BI, and similar tools, enabling customers to gain actionable insights from security, incident, and operational data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver dashboards, operational reports, and analytics solutions for Octave Physical Security platforms (e.g., VMS, incident management, command & control systems).
- Build and maintain reports using Qlik (QlikView / Qlik Sense), NPrinting, Power BI, and equivalent BI tools.
- Configure scheduled, automated, and role-based reports using NPrinting or similar reporting frameworks.
- Work closely with customers to gather requirements, understand operational security workflows, and translate them into effective BI and reporting solutions.
- Support end-to-end project delivery including requirement analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting, performance, and data refresh issues in live customer environments.
- Collaborate with product engineering, database, and support teams to resolve data, integration, and performance challenges.
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and performance of reporting solutions.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, solution design documents, and customer handover materials.
- Provide customer training, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support as part of professional services engagements.
Education / Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in Professional Services, BI, Analytics, or Reporting roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Qlik (QlikView / Qlik Sense)
- NPrinting
- Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling)
- Proven experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports.
- Experience working in a client-facing environment, preferably in enterprise or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with report scheduling, access control, and data security.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with Physical Security, CCTV, Video Management Systems (VMS), PSIM, or Command & Control platforms.
- Exposure to Physical Security solutions or similar enterprise security products.
- Knowledge of incident management, alarms, sensors, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with other reporting tools such as SSRS, Tableau, or Crystal Reports.
- Familiarity with on-prem and cloud deployments (Azure / AWS).
- Understanding of enterprise customer environments, SLAs, and operational support models.
