Responsibilities

Octave is looking for a Senior Enterprise Data Analyst to join the enterprise data team. The individual will collaborate closely within the agile enterprise data team and with internal stakeholders across the organization to understand the business objectives, determine how data can be leveraged to inform the objectives, identify and analyze necessary data, and create reporting and visualizations. The end goal is to produce clear and compelling information that drives business decisions and improvement in areas such as revenue generation, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The primary technologies used are ThoughtSpot connected to Snowflake

The individual should be a self-starter, able to operate under limited supervision, and a problem solver. It is critical for this role to take the initiative to learn and understand the business domain, the necessary stakeholders and their points of view. The individual must be a team player as part of cross-functional team of data engineers, data analysts and product management. The individual will also interact with other data science and analytics teams throughout the organization. The individual will do regular demos of functionality and lead working sessions with product management and end users. The individual will interface directly with various internal stakeholders and will provide quick resolution to critical support issues. Originality, ingenuity, independent judgment and a reasonable degree of self-direction and decision-making are highly desired.


Responsibilities
•    Work with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and propose ways enterprise data can help facilitate those objectives.
•    Identify and analyze data, create reporting layer, and develop actionable data insights and visualizations.
•    Work with the ThoughtSpot vendor to resolve open issues, understand new product features and how they can be utilized to solve business problems.

Qualifications

Required
•    4 to 5 years experience with enterprise data warehouse and analytics solutions, as well as visualization technologies 
•    Experience in understanding business problems and creating compelling analytics from enterprise data to drive business decisions
•    Experience with some SQL language
•    Experience with Salesforce.com and other cloud technologies
•    Experience validating the quality of data and metrics
•    Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
•    Self-starter that can work a project independently


Preferred
•    Experience with ThoughtSpot or other self-service analytics tools
•    Experience consuming data from Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse


Education
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or another related field is required.
