Overview

This role reports to the Manager Project Accounting for Northwest Europe. It is a hands-on accounting role to support the production of the books and records of the legal entities within the Northwestern Region for the PPM business in respect of the services activities and associated revenue, costs and balance sheet accounts. The team is based in the Swindon office and is part of the larger Northwestern Europe team. 

Responsibilities

As part of the Northwestern region finance team, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Manager Project Accounting in all aspects of consulting projects activities including but not limited to: 
• Set of projects in a timely manner 
• Posting of costs to projects via timesheets or invoices as appropriate 
• Revenue recognition on projects where applicable 
• Analysis of the monthly results to understand key hits/ misses and issues within the services 
• Billing of services projects in a timely manner to customers. 
• Closing projects as and when appropriate. 
• Work with the project managers and PMO to understand the projects as they move through their lifecycle 
• Monitor backlogs and bookings and aid the reporting of both numbers in the management accounts as appropriate. 
• Support the services team with any data requests they may have. 
• Where applicable, assist with the production of the reporting packs for the Western Region 
• Assist in the onboarding of the projects from SI’s Infrastructure transitioning . 
• Reconcile the unbilled and Billings in excess accounts as they relate to services. 
• Assist with the forecasting process for services 
• Assist in the updating of the recovery rates for the application engineers. 

Education / Qualifications

• Minimum of AAT Level 3. 
• Experience working in a finance function of a multinational company would be an advantage. 
• The ability to produce information in a clear and concise manner.  
• Excellent written and spoken English, a confident and concise communicator who has experience of dealing with both finance and non-finance management. 
• Able to maintain strong working relations with staff and business partners that may be located outside of UK. 
• Experience of an international business environment – preferably in a software, technology or projects business would be an advantage.  
• Self-motivated individual that is looking for a role that will challenge and reward. 
• Good IT application skills and experience. Experience of using integrated accounting systems required. Proficient in use of excel and PowerPoint.
