Overview

This role is within the Benelux finance team that reports to the Assistant Controller of the Western region. It is a hands-on hybrid accounting role to support the production of the books and records of the Benelux & Belgium legal entities. The team is based in the Swindon office and is part of the large North Western Europe team.

We are looking for a motivated finance individual to join to team to help with the day to day finance tasks following a reorganisation of the finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in activities of the department supporting the Assistant Controller to ensure that accounting control is maintained, and the results are reported to group in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

As part of the Benelux & Belgium finance team you will be responsible for:

•    Calculating prepayments and accruals – ensuring that analysis is provided to enable a full understanding of what is the in the balance sheet.
•    Producing monthly bank reconciliations.
•    Providing monthly fixed asset analysis, ensuring accuracy of additions and depreciation along with periodic confirmation of book assets.
•    Calculating and submission of monthly VAT return.
•    Receiving and process all purchase invoices, including intercompany transactions.
•    Intercompany confirmations, reporting and billing; including raising intercompany recharge invoices to other Intergraph entities.
•    Reviewing and processing expenses claims.
•    Loading data to the groups consolidation system and ensuring that the analysis schedules are complete as required on a monthly or quarterly basis.
•    Maintaining Sales master data on debtor cards
•    Completing and or reviewing key balance sheet account reconciliations.
•    Assisting with the monthly review of Revenue and OPEX to understand variances. 
•    Providing support for the monthly group reporting ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•    Reviewing the AR balances and ensuring that they are followed up.
•    The review and update of credit control schedule, highlighting key bad debt movements.
•    Performing monthly intercompany reconciliations and required journal postings.
•    Supporting the Finance Manager and the wider North Western Europe team where required.

Education / Qualifications

•    Basic understanding of accountancy including double entry 
•    Good communication skills
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
•    AAT qualified or part-qualified/qualified (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA) would be a bonus
