Responsibilities
- You report to the EMEA Director of Public Safety, working within their team of remote workers supporting the EMEA region
- Business Development and Pre-Sales support
- Make confident and compelling "sales" presentations of Octave's business in Public Safety, our OnCall portfolio and the services we provide to add value to the delivery of the OnCall portfolio, whilst showing empathy with the challenges our end-users and their wider businesses face
- Make confident and compelling demonstrations of OnCall software with a focus on understanding end-user and overall business benefits whilst maintaining a good working knowledge of the functional capabilities that support those benefits
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the OnCall portfolio and its latest functional and architectural developments, so as to keep presentations and demonstrations current and informative
- Maintain a demonstration environment with the support of pre-sales leads from regional Business Units in support of the above services and to reflect the diversity of configuration and solution thought leadership across the region
- Develop and maintain close personal relationships with key reps in GTC and regional sales and project teams so as to be familiar with the latest market and competitive demands and the latest challenges face by our regional project teams so that you can reference these challenges and how they have been overcome/mitigated and generally speak with authority to customers and peers
- Support the Regional Director of Public Safety, as well as local and regional sales reps as they meet prospects across EMEA, establish relationships and develop sales
- Bids & Proposals support
- Support the Regional Director of Public Safety, as well as local and regional sales reps with the qualification of Public Safety opportunities
- Support the EMEA Bid & Proposals Manager as they work with local Sales Reps to answer RFPs/ITTs, including initial assessment and prioritisation of requirements, as well as providing content and answers
- Support the EMEA Bid & Proposals Manager and local Business Units to curate generic content for re-use in Octave's bid management tool "Responsive" using "best of breed" historical responses from all Business Units.
- Other
- From time to time, implement 'Proof of Concept' systems for customers and 'pump prime' projects as part of a team in early start-up.
- Work with global marketing to prepare technical product and thought leadership marketing documents

Education / Qualifications
- University degree in computer science, GIS, geography or equivalent qualification in a Public Safety operational discipline - or alternatively, 5 + years experience in Public Safety control room operations rising to power user of software similar to Octave OnCall
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience with a supplier of similar software
- Good knowledge of a mix of Public Safety control room operational peipherals and technologies (some of: desktop, web, mobile, telephone, radio, data management, analytivsm, etc) and methods of data acquisition and processing
- The majoraty of terms such as C&C, CAD, ICCS, EOC, SIP, MCX, LTE, WFS, WCS or WMS are recognisable to you
- You have experience of Public Safety projects and RFPs/ITTs
- You have database knowledge (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or others)
- You have experience of web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- You enjoy a challenge, learning from colleagues and customer practitioners, and taking initiative to put forward your ideas where you see gaps and a vacuum - you ask questions when you are unsure on direction but don't expect to be told how to take every step
- You enjoy building and implementing technical solutions using modern technologies
- You have a strong customer focus and high quality awareness
- You have good presentation and communication skills, even when dealing with complex issues
- You are willing to undertake business trips across the region when called to do so
- You are business fluent in English both written and spoken, additional European languages are a plus (German, French, Spanish, etc)
- Experience with open geodata, OGC services, 3D geodata, point clouds, web services, and cloud architectures a bonus
- Experience using AI in proposal writing, Pubilc Safety and with geoinformation an advantage
- Experience of WebGIS technologies for developing innovative solutions an advantage
