Who we are looking for

We are looking for a database specialist with solid SQL Server expertise who enjoys working in a software development environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable with database design, administration, performance optimization, application environment maintenance, and deployment activities, and is interested in expanding their understanding of web applications and related technologies such as Entity Framework.

Responsibilities

The role combines database design, administration, and operational support for our software products. Working closely with developers, QA engineers, and project ingeneers, you will contribute to database-related activities throughout the software lifecycle and internal environments. From time to time, you may assist with the investigation of customer-reported issues related to the database or application environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to database design, implementation, and maintenance for new and existing product features.
  • Support SQL Server administration, including configuration, maintenance, security, backup, and recovery.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting.
  • Support software deployments, database migrations, and CI/CD processes.
  • Assist in maintaining application environments, including Windows Server and IIS.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of database and application-related issues in collaboration with development and support teams.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
  • Provide database expertise during installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Education / Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with database design, T-SQL development, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server administration, including backup/recovery, security, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of software development processes and database integration within enterprise applications.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., C#,  PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar deployment and release management tools.
  • Experience with Windows-based application environments, IIS, and basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment.
  • Understanding of how .NET web applications and ORM technologies (e.g., Entity Framework) interact with SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with Azure services and cloud-hosted environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Failover Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
  • Experience with database synchronization, replication, or migration technologies.
