Product Database Specialist & Windows Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

The role combines design, implementation and optimization of the product database with administration tasks over product installations. The position supports SQL Server environments, Windows-based infrastructure components and CI/CD processes used for application deployments.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Design database architecture for new implementations.
  • Perform operational database administration for SQL Server instances (installation, configuration, patching, maintenance).
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks and perform basic tuning (indexes, queries, resource usage).
  • Execute and verify backup/restore procedures, manage DB security, permissions and access control.
  • Support Windows Server environments, including configuration of IIS, DNS, networking protocols and system-level services.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (builds, releases, deployment pipelines).
  • Handle incident resolution for database and Windows-related issues, including root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, runbooks and operational procedures.

 

Education / Qualifications

Technical Requirements

  • Working knowledge of SQL Server administration (T-SQL, indexing, execution plans, performance metrics).
  • Experience with SQL Server tools: SSMS, SQL Server Agent, Profiler/Extended Events, monitoring dashboards.
  • Practical experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
  • Knowledge of IIS configuration, application pools, bindings, SSL certificates.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing basics).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps: build pipelines, release pipelines, artifact management.
  • Experience with Web Applications  


Desirable Skills

  • Programming skills (preferable c#)
  • Knowledge about .net Entity Framework
  • Experience with Azure services (VMs, storage, SQL in Azure).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker).
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, ELK, SCOM).
  • Understanding of HA/DR concepts (Failover Cluster, AlwaysOn basics).
